KHAGA YOGA TO OPEN SECOND LOCATION AT COTINO BAY BEACH, DINING AND SHOPS

(October 27, 2025) Khaga Yoga Palm Springs is pleased to announce that we will be opening a second location in Rancho Mirage, California, within Cotino Bay Beach, Dining and Shops. This town center is part of Cotino, the first Storyliving by Disney community, and will open in the fall of 2026. The facility will contain two yoga studios, along with a retail boutique featuring yoga gear and accessories. Read the Disney press release here.

According to Khaga Yoga Director Norberto Laboy-Brauer, “We are excited to expand our reach in the Coachella Valley and bring our authentic blend of traditional and contemporary yoga forms to Cotino Bay Beach, Dining and Shops. Throughout our discussions with the Disney team, we have felt welcome, wanted, and appreciated, and we are honored to have been given this opportunity.”

Business Manager Allan Brauer adds, “All of our membership options and multi-class packages will be accepted at both locations, and many of our current teachers will also offer classes at Cotino Bay Beach, Dining and Shops, while creating employment opportunities for more yoga teachers. Our goal is to recreate the calm and serene atmosphere our Palm Springs students already enjoy, within a space designed from the ground up around the needs of a yoga studio.”

About Khaga Yoga

Khaga Yoga Palm Springs was born in 2024, when veteran yogi and certified yoga teacher Norberto Laboy-Brauer was approached by the owner of his favorite local yoga studio, Yoga Yantra, in downtown Palm Springs. Having decided to end her studio operations, she offered Norberto the opportunity to take over the business, teachers, and clients. Norberto and his spouse Allan Brauer did not want to see this thriving community of yogis lose their home, and in November 2024, they reopened the studio as Khaga Yoga Palm Springs.

Khaga is the Sanskrit word for bird, or anything that flies through the air. Norberto and Allan were inspired by the history and culture of the Agua Caliente people, who have passed their oral history down through the generations in the form of bird songs, and today groups of bird singers perform these songs to keep their heritage alive. The songs tell of a time when their people were cast out and wandered the world looking for their new home. Upon arriving at the mountains surrounding the Coachella Valley, they were sure that their home was waiting for them on the other side, and so they transformed into birds to fly over the imposing mountains, and found the oasis we now know as Palm Springs. From them we learn that to achieve our goals, it may be necessary to transform ourselves first, and to us, yoga is a transformational practice that improves the body, mind and spirit. Our experienced teachers provide an array of yoga offerings, from traditional to contemporary, and they look forward to working with you on your own journey to health and wellness.
